Highly subjective takes on life's most interesting experiences.

What’s your most treasured personal ritual?

I would say my most treasured personal ritual is in-flight skin care. It sounds so corny. But I really love it. I have very sensitive skin. It’s acne-prone, it’s dry. And flying really dries my skin out. It’s notoriously dehydrating. But honestly, I feel so prepared for where I’m going, when, 30 minutes before final descent into landing, I go into the little teeny-tiny airplane bathroom and clean my face. I put on some serum, some moisturizer, some balm. I like to use Weleda Skin Food. It’s definitely super old-school, but it’s poppin’ — it’s a German product. You can kind of get it anywhere. I use it on my lips; I use it on my skin. It’s great on your eyes for super dry, arid environments. I actually put it in my nostrils to keep my nostrils hydrated so I don’t get a bloody nose (is that too graphic for this interview?). I really get myself together on the skincare thing — a little sunscreen for when I de-plane, all that jazz. It makes me feel refreshed. I’m ready to do what I need to do when I land.
