Who says Greece still doesn’t have the high life? Amanzo’e is one of the most gorgeous properties we’ve recently visited. It’s a lovely two-and-a-half-hour drive (our preference) from the Grande Bretagne (rooms, from $310; Syntagma Square; 30-210/333-0000; grandbretagne.gr), our favorite hotel in Athens, or 20 minutes by helicopter (who needs to rush, right?). Located on a particularly felicitous beach on the Peloponnesian peninsula and ten minutes from Porto Heli, Amanzo’e is perfection. Once again, the hand of Aman master designer Ed Tuttle is very much in evidence. Rooms start at $1,080; Agios Panteleieimonas, Kranidi, Argolida; 800-477-9180; amanresorts.com.
