Colorado’s capital has finally emerged from the shadows of its ski-town neighbors to become a destination all its own.
Hotel to Book
The Crawford has quickly become Denver’s hottest hotel since opening last summer. Located above the main train terminal at Lower Downtown’s newly revamped Union Station (also home to some of the city’s top restaurants), the 112-room hotel combines historic elements, like original exposed timber beams and claw-foot tubs, with modern luxuries, such as a Tesla house car. Book one of the loft rooms located on the top floor in the station’s former attic. They are super spacious with high ceilings, brick walls, and cool modern art and lighting. Expect the hotel to be in even greater demand next year, when the city is scheduled to complete a train line linking Denver International Airport to Union Station. Rooms from $250; 1701 Wynkoop St.; 720-460-3700; thecrawfordhotel.com.
