The views might just be the best amenity.

New luxury hotels are always looking for ways to wow guests with unique offerings and high-end amenities. But a new property opening in Scottsdale, Arizona, has something no other resort will have: location in a Dark Sky Zone.

ADERO Scottsdale will be surrounded by the Sonoran Desert, which is part of a Dark Sky Park. What does that mean exactly? Well, the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) defines a select few pieces of land as having “exceptional quality of starry nights and a nocturnal environment that is specifically protected for its scientific, natural, educational, cultural heritage, and/or public enjoyment.”

So, the Marriott International Autograph Collection Hotel will have not only an onsite restaurant, wellness studio, art installation, and rooms outfitted with custom furniture, but also unparalleled views of Arizona’s famed Four Peaks and McDowell Mountain Range. In fact, 95 percent of the accommodations are positioned to have panoramic mountain views.

Of course, the views and starry skies inspire much of the hotel’s offerings. The resort’s CIELO restaurant, meaning “sky,” will offer one of the best views in the house. And the onsite Night Markets will feature local vendors. Plus, you can take an evening telescope tour of the galaxy led by official Dark Sky Zone guides.

“This new resort has been years in the making, and we’re thrilled to debut ADERO this October as part of the Autograph Collection,” said Owner and Developer Bill Hinz in a statement. “With endless desert terrain allowing for the possibility of year-round adventure, we wanted to create a place where flora and fauna, the local community, and culture intersect with the guest experience through hands-on programming and superior service. Our goal is for guests to be forever impacted by wonderful memories, and more importantly, an all-encompassing knowledge on how to be better stewards of our environment.”

The hotel plans to open in October.
