London: Donovan Bar at Brown’s Hotel
On April 9, the five-star Brown’s Hotel will welcome a swanky, newly redesigned bar. The menu, curated by legendary bartender Salvatore Calabrese, will feature vintage drinks and signature cocktails to be shaken and served against a backdrop of Sir Terrence Donovan’s photographs. Drinks include: the Flower Power (Hendrick’s gin, butterfly pea tea, and lavender honey) and the Godfrey (Hennessey, VSOP Cognac, crème de mure, and blackberries). After an acclaimed run as a fine-dining pop-up, the team behind RTB Fillmore will put down permanent roots on April 10. Chef Rodney Wages (who honed his skills at Atelier Crenn and the French Laundry), will offer globally-inspired modern fare like toasted grain broth with clarified onion butter and savory æbleskivers. Bali: Meta Meets Kubu
On April 14, Kubu, the renowned restaurant at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, will join the Ubud Food Festival (April 13-15) for a special dinner. Kubu’s chef Maurizio Bombini will partner with visiting chef Sun Kim (of Singapore’s Michelin-starred Meta) to, Kubu’s chef, Maurizio Bombini will create a European-Korean fusion menu. Offerings include French quail with mushroom ragout and scallop sashimi with yuzu and basil. Los Gatos, CA: Collaborative Tasting Menu at Manresa
On April 14 and 15, superstar chef David Kinch will welcome three Michelin-starred chef Esben Holmboe Bang (of Norway’s Maaemo) to create a collaborative tasting menu. In mid-April, Downtown Detroit will welcome the Siren Hotel, housed in the city’s historic Wurlitzer Building.
