The countdown to 2020 is just around the corner, and wanderlusters are already on the hunt for the coolest, most unique experiences to ring in the new year. One restaurant in Sydney is hoping to provide that by creating an over-the-top package that would give guests a dining experience unlike anywhere else in the world.
Bennelong restaurant, located in the Sydney Opera House, is hosting a New Year's Eve dinner celebration from beneath the sails of the iconic auditorium. And while guests can book a table and enjoy entertainment, canapés on arrival, five-course menu with matched wines, and a glass of Champagne to ring in 2020 for $1,665 per person, there's an option to kick it up a notch.
The Front Row Table experience gives you an exclusive private area on the upper level of the restaurant with uninterrupted views towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It's here where the midnight fireworks display takes place, which last year was a 12-minute-long spectacle that cost $5.8 million to put on, and a million people turned out to witness. But you won't have to sift through the crowds.
Of course, you'll also be treated to Champagne canapes and multi-course meal, but will also personally be welcomed to Bennelong by the Head Chef. Plus, since the Man o' War steps are just feet from the entrance, you can also arrive and depart by boat.
The cost for the best seat in the house? The Front Row Table will set its buyer back about $24,000.
If you'd prefer a different destination, there's another extravagant New Year's Eve option. The Knickerbocker in New York is hosting an exclusive rooftop party where you can ring in the new year 150 feet from Times Square Ball for a cool $150,000.
