Christmas morning in many families means waking early with excited children anxious to open their gifts. Or, for some, it’s a day to sleep in after a late Christmas Eve celebration or midnight mass.

No matter what your holiday traditions involve, you would probably prefer not having to prepare a meal and then clean up on Christmas morning. You might want to ease into the holiday with a delicious brunch in a festive atmosphere where everyone can choose what they’d like to eat.

Since many restaurants are closed on Christmas Day or perhaps only open later for dinner, the brunch of your dreams will require some planning—and usually a reservation. We’ve looked for Christmas brunches in several cities, but if yours is not listed here, we suggest checking with local hotels, which are more likely to be open Christmas morning. Many restaurants have specific seating times, so be sure to call early to reserve your table.
