Building eco-conscious homes has been a trend for several years now. But, one California couple took that concept to the next level by creating the 'healthiest home ever'. And now it's on the market for $26 million.
Dubbed the 'Healthy House', 31 Strand Beach Drive in Dana Point, California, is currently owned by tech-wellness advocate, August Brice, and her husband, Hal. The home features nearly every eco-friendly and health-conscious amenity possible, and the property is almost entirely toxin-free. What does that entail exactly?
Well, the design goal was to use eco-friendly materials that produce no off-gassing and have all of the internal wiring being specially shielded, generating zero electromagnetic field penetration. There's also low VOC paint throughout, natural pest control, and organic cleaning materials. Additionally, the home currently has more than 50 solar panels installed on the roof and is awaiting Tesla power wall batteries, to allow the property to operate off-grid essentially.
Aside from being a health-haven, the location and property are stunning. Situated within the private, gated community of The Strand, the home sits on an oceanfront lot with direct beach access. Designed by renowned architect Ed Lohrbach, the design is centered around creating a laid-back beachy vibe, while maximizing the amazing views across the Pacific Ocean.
Additional features in the four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home include a commercial-grade elevator, separate lower level studio, custom Venetian plaster, dual chef and prep kitchens, zen garden, pool, and spa. There's also an oceanfront fire pit and infrared sauna system to help keep you relaxed and healthy as well. As far as safety goes, the property features a hidden bullet-proof panic room/walk-in safe with ventilation, an emergency phone, and dedicated security camera video feed.
"For buyers in search of a high style quotient with exceptional build quality, and who understand that restraint is the ultimate in refinement," reads the listing. "This may be the best opportunity seen on this coast in a decade."
