If you're in the market for a private island that has sandy beaches, manicured lawns, and is easily commutable to New York City, you're in luck.

Three of the Thimble Islands near Connecticut hit the market this week for a total of $5.3 million. The Thimble Islands are a storied chain of 365 small islands in Stony Creek Harbor off the southeast coast of Branford in Long Island Sound, just 75 miles from New York City, and only 14 miles from the Hamptons.

Buyers interested in owning their own Connecticut private island can choose between Jepson Island, Belden Island, and the largest of the lot, Wheelers Island, which might come with an extra perk—hidden treasure. Legend has it Captain Kidd buried his treasure on the island while fleeing pirate hunters.

Jepsen Island is the smallest island on offer and is listed for $800,000. The 0.28-acre land comes with a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom "contemporary vacation home" featuring lots of natural materials, exposed beams, skylights, and cathedral ceilings.

Belden Island is on sale for $1.5 million and comes with a fully furnished 4-bedroom "sanctuary summer home", according to the listing on williampitt.com. The storybook cottage comes with a wrap-around porch that overlooks a rolling green lawn, the sandy beach, and private dock.

Wheelers is by far the largest and most impressive island available. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Thimbles" the three-quarter-acre island is listed by williampitt.com for a cool $3 million. The Victorian-style home on the island has eight beds, four and a half baths, and was built in 2001.

"No expense was spared in creating this masterpiece, built by one of the premier builders in CT, Petra Construction," the listing reads. "With its two wrap-around porches and outdoor dining area, one can not only enjoy sunrises, sunsets, endless summer breezes, but the magic of the Thimble Islands."

All islands come with private sandy beaches, manicured lawns, and everything you'd need to move in right away, such as solar power, generators, and city water.

Thimble Islands were last on the market in 2016 with eight islands offered at $78 million. Two of them sold: the largest, Rogers Island, and Cut-In-Two, and the sellers decided to keep some of the others.
