When two heritage brands come together to create something new, you know it will be special. Well, Porsche Design and BRIC'S just announced a long-term partnership to bring a new line of bags, luggage, and small leather goods to the market.
Both companies are deeply rooted in design. BRIC'S was founded in 1952 by Mario Briccola and has made a name for itself for its high-quality travel accessories. Porsche Design was founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander. It is known for its high-performance products, including the classic Porsche 911. These experts came together to make a sleek luggage line that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
“With BRIC'S, we have a partner who brings a rich heritage, a lot of passion, and many years of experience in the manufacturing sector of fine leather and travel goods into this collaboration,” said Porsche Design CEO Jan Becker, in a statement. “This expertise will further elevate and expand our well-known bags and luggage collection, helping us to take the category to the next level.”
The model range, which will debut at the end of 2020, will feature a selection of hard and soft shell luggage, bags, backpacks, and small leather goods, ranging from business to leisure-inspired products. The sketches recently released revealed a backpack with a slim profile and a rolling bag with clean lines.
“We are enthusiastic about the alliance with Porsche Design: a synergy that arises from the value of the two brands, and from the functional design philosophy of Porsche Design, which identifies itself with the genius of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche,” BRIC'S President Roberto Briccola added. “ Our production has always been characterized by constant development, where innovation and tradition, functionality, and elegance are intertwined and balanced with skilled craft, advanced technology, interpretation of new trends, attention to market demand and customers’ needs.”
