Copenhagen, Denmark: Nimb
As befits a town associated with Hans Christian Andersen, there’s a fairy-tale quality to two of the city’s smallest properties, Nimb and Central Hotel & Café (next slide). The 17-room Nimb looks like something out of The Arabian Nights, with its ornately patterned façade, white marble cladding, and a turreted dome roof—not to mention, it adjoins the fabled Tivoli amusement park. The rooms are spacious, filled with antiques, dark-wood furniture, and a working fireplace; many of the bathrooms feature freestanding tubs. Rooms, from $700; Bernstorffsgade 5; 45-88/700-000; nimb.dk.
