The Golden Globes is one of the biggest nights for Hollywood. But, that night can be a long one. With hours of glam prep, sitting through the actual ceremony, and attending after-parties that go into the wee hours of the morning, many stars opt to book a room in one of Tinseltown’s luxury hotels. Here are some of the A-lister’s favorites.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills

The only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star-rated hotel in Southern California every year since 1993, The Peninsula Beverly Hills, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts Property, has consistently won marks for its secluded setting, amenities including pillowcases monogrammed with guests’ initials. Since opening in 1991, stars like Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, and more have been spotted at the property, which has 38 suites and 17 private villas decorated in a French country style. Kristen Bell even shared a photo chowing down before the award show last year. While it’s long been a favorite hangout for the stars, the hotel recently underwent a four-month refresh bringing the beloved hotel squarely into the present.

Chateau Marmont

Built in 1929, the Chateau Marmont might be one of the most iconic buildings in Los Angeles. The castle-like structure sits perched above Sunset Boulevard making it easy for celebrities to sneak in unseen. While legends like F. Scott Fitzgerald called the property home at one point in time, stars like Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Justin Timberlake, and Jessica Biel have paid a visit during awards season. And it’s easy to see why it’s so beloved. Everything about the hotel oozes old Hollywood glamour from the rich red-hued upholstered furniture to the gothic-style ceilings and lush garden patios. It’s easy to hole up here for a night.

The Beverly Hilton

There’s no better place to get ready and spend the night than at the site of the event itself. The Beverly Hilton has been the home of the Golden Globes ceremony since 1961 and hosts many of the famous after-parties too. Stars like Angelina Jolie (who jumped into the property’s pool post-show in 1999) and George Clooney have all visited taking advantage of the Wilshire Tower rooms. These luxury suites come with stunning views and are outfitted with a virtual concierge, so celebrities never have to leave until they want to be seen.

Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

Four Seasons hotels around the world have long been celebrity favorites. So, it makes sense stars would opt to stay at American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts Property the Four Season Los Angeles when in town. And the luxury hotel brand knows how to treat their guests right. Every Golden Globes nominee who checks into the hotel gets a custom chocolate sculpture by chef Federico Fernandez. Sarah Jessica Parker even shared her intricate one on Instagram during her stay. What’s more is stars have access to in-room exercise equipment like a Peloton bike and meditations by Deepak Chopra, a spa for any last-minute beauty treatments, and an intimate pool for a bit of relaxation before the big show.

Sunset Marquis

Tucked away in West Hollywood, Sunset Marquis has been a staple for celebrities for 50 years.  While it mostly gained a reputation for its rock-n-roll clientele—Bruce Springsteen and Kiss to name a few—many Golden Globes nominated stars like Kerry Washington, Billy Bob Thorton, and Pharrell Williams have checked in here as well. Many stay in one of the properties exclusive villas to ensure even more privacy. The two-story Presidential Villa, in particular, if a favorite among stars as it comes with a private screening room, dining room for 10 and complimentary access to Equinox Health Club.

AKA Beverly Hills

For actors who truly want a home away from home, they check in to AKA Beverly Hills. The suites are situated like apartments with full kitchens, bedrooms, living and dining areas. There are even townhouses that come with private access. But, just because it’s set up like a luxury apartment complex, doesn’t mean the property comes without some luxurious hotel amenities. Stars can have fresh groceries delivered to their rooms or private access to Spago.

Hotel Bel-Air

Since 1946, the Hotel Bel-Air has been a hideaway for celebs. Grace Kelly even slept here (the suite is now named after her) after winning the Oscar for Best Actress in 1955. Today, A-listers like Russel Crowe and Oprah Winfrey still love shacking up here as the whole property feels like an oasis in the busy city. Situated on 12 acres and surrounded by more than 4,000 plants, stars can find some quiet after a hectic evening. Many of the suites and villas even have a private garden adding a whole other level of seclusion and relaxation.

Viceroy L'Ermitage

If Elizabeth Taylor was a fan of this hotel, you know it has to be good. Since opening in 1975, L'Ermitage,  an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts Property, has maintained its combo of understated elegance and utmost privacy. Located on a tree-lined residential street in Beverly Hills, the all-suite hotel boasts huge rooms with incredible views of L.A. Plus, the suites come with runway-like dressing rooms complete with mirrors boasting indoor/outdoor lighting features, perfect for getting ready before the red carpet. That’s why Jessica Chastain chose the property to get ready for the Golden Globes in 2017.

Sunset Tower

While the restaurant and bar are frequented by stars like Jennifer Aniston, the Sunset Tower hotel, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts Property and art deco hotel built in 1931, is also a favorite for more extended stays too. Emma Stone got ready here before the Golden Globes and took advantage of at least one of the amenities: the plush bathrobes. Also on site, stars can have their pets run around in the attached dog park or book an appointment at The Spa by Joanna Vargas, aka Hollywood’s skincare guru. There’s even an outdoor gym to get those last few squats while overlooking Sunset Boulevard.

Courtesy The Hollywood Roosevelt

Hollywood Roosevelt

The historic Hollywood Roosevelt on Hollywood Boulevard played host to the first-ever Academy Awards in 1929 when tickets cost $5, and the whole ceremony lasted 15 minutes. Since its opening, the iconic hot spot has welcomed legends from Marilyn Monroe and Shirley Temple to Jimmy Kimmel, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, and Jay-Z. Today, the city landmark, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, still attracts crowds of celebrities who love the eclectic modern décor, rotating art displays, and cozy poolside cabanas. Fun fact: the Penthouse appears in “A Star is Born” featuring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, and the hotel was also used in scenes in “Catch Me If You Can,” “Entourage,” “CSI,” and “This is Us,” among others.

Shutters on the Beach

For those stars that want to have an escape from the action after the award show, they head to Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. The luxury hotel is like having a private beach house. It’s located directly on the sand and features a classic SoCal design aesthetic. Imagine waking up after a night of partying to the relaxing sounds of the ocean while laying in bed. No wonder Spike Lee decided to get ready here for the 2019 Golden Globes.
