The holidays are a magical time of year, especially for children. The house gets decorated, new toys are opened, and in some places, snow is falling. The Savoy, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property, wanted to capture that childish wonder this year by partnering with LEGO to outfit the lobby and public spaces with larger than life festive toy creations.
Kicking off on November 17, the iconic London hotel will host The Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas featuring imaginative festive builds with a LEGO twist. Think dragon Christmas tree, and a reimagined sleigh for Santa Claus.
Visitors can expect to see builds all over the property, including in the Front Hall and hanging above the famous sign on Savoy Court. Other builds are being kept a secret until the big reveal as the hotel wants to create an element of surprise and childish wonder. Plus, the major installation is happening overnight, so guests will wake up to the transformed space.
“With their motto ‘Only the best is good enough’, The LEGO Group is the perfect partner for us as we gear up to a festive season here at The Savoy that will delight and inspire both our grown-up and little guests alike,” Ian Kidd, Hotel Manager at The Savoy, said in a statement. “We’ve been blown away by the incredible creativity and passion brought to the table by the LEGO brick designers so far and look forward to revealing the decorations for all to enjoy.”
Guests can also partake in LEGO Build to Give and build their own decorations with LEGO Certified Professionals. Plus, for every decoration created and shared on social media with #BuildToGive, LEGO will donate a set to a child in need.
“We are excited to be partnering with The Savoy for this festive celebration,” Nicola Morgan-Hulme, Senior Brand Relations Manager, UK/Ireland at The LEGO Group, said in a statement. “As part of our Rebuild the World campaign, this partnership is designed to inspire people of all ages to unleash their creativity and explore the limitlessness of their imagination through play. We hope that the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas will truly inspire people to rebuild the importance of creativity this festive season.”
Additionally, at this most magical time of year, The Savoy’s renowned restaurants and bars are full of festive cheer with a decadent feast for Thanksgiving, a special afternoon tea menu, and modern twists on classics and roasts at Kaspar’s and Simpson’s in the Strand.
