Hotel Chaco Brings Luxury Digs to Albuquerque
Albuquerque gets its first true luxury hotel with the May 26 opening of Hotel Chaco in Old Town. Architectural elements like precise stone masonry and latilla rooftops take inspiration from ancient structures in nearby Chaco Canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Archaeological Site. Each of the 118 rooms has a private terrace with views of the Sandia Mountains. Neutral-toned interiors are accented with original wool rugs made by Navajo Weavers. Throughout the hotel, guests will find specially commissioned works from some of the most prominent contemporary Native American artists. Chef Mark Miller, of Santa Fe’s legendary Coyote Café, helped create the menu for the rooftop restaurant. From $499; 2000 Bellamah Ave. NW, Albuquerque; 866-505-7829; hotelchaco.com.
