Proposal season is upon us, and lovebirds are always looking for unique ways to plan an engagement. Luckily, one hotel wants to take care of that for you. LondonHouse Chicago recently added an ultra-personalized music experience to its proposal package. The hotel partnered with local songwriters at With this Song to write, record, and perform a custom love song for couples.
Before the proposal, Chicago-based musicians, Jess Godwin and Gabriel Ruiz will meet with the couple or proposer (in-person, by video, or by phone). During this time, they will get a sense of your love story and who you are as a couple. Then, the duo will create an unforgettable personalized that will be performed during your proposal, which takes place at the historic 23rd-floor rooftop Cupola.
Couples can choose between three live music experiences created by With this Song. You have a choice of a personalized love song and live performance at the proposal, that plus a recording of the songs, or a cover performance of an existing song that has meaning to the couple.
“LondonHouse’s proposal package has always been an experience we wanted couples to personalize to their hearts’ content,” John Belter, Director of Food and Beverage at LondonHouse Chicago, told Departures. “Adding a bespoke love song and live performance to an already custom engagement at our historic Cupola was the perfect way to take that special moment to an even more epic, yet intimate level.”
The original proposal package happens on the 1923 rooftop providing 360-degree views of Chicago and featuring Xs and Os in its detailed engravings. Couples can rent out the space, add a bottle of champagne, extra décor, a customized, and a multi-course dinner. But when the hotel came across the talents of Jess and Gabriel of With this Song earlier this year—and learned about their music—the more they fell in love with their romantic mission. So, they decided to offer the personalized song as an option too.
“We are always looking for ways to bring our guests’ unforgettable, authentic experiences in Chicago,” added Belter. “Surprised by the one you love, surrounded by unparalleled city views 23 floors up, and now being serenaded with a love song written just for your relationship—it’s the perfect setting to say ‘yes.’”
