The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is asked to perform all over the world. And one of those places could be your hotel room. The Milestone Hotel & Residences, the Red Carnation Hotel Collection's five-star mansion-hotel located across from Kensington Palace, is offering an incredibly unique experience for the holidays where suite guests can request an in-room private recital by the famed orchestra.
Guests staying in one of the Milestone's six Master Suites or one of six residences can book a string trio or solo harpist to play Christmas songs. The recital will last approximately 60 minutes (two segments, including a 10-minute break) and will include an opportunity for the guests to chat and engage with the musicians. And the musical selection would consist of anything from traditional seasonal favorites and carols to classical pieces such as The Nutcracker.
"This experience represents the ultimate combination of enjoying your very own recital by one of the world's most famous orchestras with the privilege and decadence of enjoying this in your own suite or private residence," Andrew Pike, General Manager of The Milestone Hotel & Residences, told Departures. "This is a totally unique opportunity to share this experience with a loved one or some special friends in the luxurious surroundings of our beautiful hotel."
The hotel is also offering other themed experiences like a Christmas cocktail making class, a gingerbread decorating workshop, and a bespoke "Taste of Christmas" meal, all taking place in the guest's suite. Guests can choose to stay in one of the Milestone's newly redesigned suites, including the Art-Deco Ruhlmann Suite, the Duchess of Sussex inspired Meghan Suite or the fashion-forward Hermes Suite. Other suites include the Tudor, Venetian, Kensington Garden, or Club Suite, and the newly redesigned Kensington Palace Residence offers castle-like accommodations.
Prices for the string trio start at $1,295 (£1000) while the solo harpist is available from $648 (£500).
