For years, NYC’s NoMad district has been largely overshadowed by the city’s flashier neighborhoods. But a recent influx of posh hotels and boutiques has quickly boosted the area’s desirability among the international jet set. One of the most heralded new additions to the neighborhood is The James New York - NoMad, which spared none of its Downtown counterpart’s glamour but added sleek retro Art Deco flourishes perfectly befitting its Madison Avenue address (and maybe even later seasons of Mad Men). It’s here that we recently explored The James’ newly unveiled Four Bodies Wellness program–a series of in-room services curated exclusively for guests in partnership with lifestyle guru Ruby Warrington of The Numinous.

This new age take on hotel amenities has been designed to help balance all four bodies; Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Emotional, all in “pursuit of total well-being.” An ambitious objective, to say the least, Warrington tapped leading wellness experts Guru Jagat of the RA MA Institute, the choreographer, former prizefighter and personal trainer Michael Olajide Jr. of Aerospace, and Khajak Keledjian, the brains behind NYC’s INSCAPE meditation center, to boost the hotel’s already luxe offerings. These services will be available across James Hotels, including The James Chicago Magnificent Mile and the James New York SoHo.

Available at the click of a button, guests can enjoy everything from a session with Olajide Jr. to in-room TV Kundalini Yoga exercises specifically designed to cure jet lag and clear stress. That latter is led by Jagat, considered the modern face of Kundalini Yoga.

Our favorite offering, however, is Ruby Warrington’s ‘Readers on Room Service’ menu, where guests can book one-to-one sessions with “various intuitive counselors”; services including, but by no means limited to, Tarot readings, hypnosis, Reiki, sound healing, and personalized astrology charts.

While the Four Bodies Wellness Program can help fine-tune your mental, physical, and even spiritual health, with the in-hotel opening this month of Scarpetta feeding your taste buds, you might just be able to reach total body nirvana right in NoMad.
