Everything you need for your 2023 travel: our editors’ picks for on-the-road...
Travel is stressful. But one New York hotel is taking a creative approach to helping guests unwind without having to leave their room.
Starting today, guests at The James New York — NoMad will be able to order CBD-infused foods and beauty products straight to their rooms.
For the uninitiated: CBD stands for Cannabidiol. The cannabis compound is legal in all 50 states and doesn’t have any psychoactive properties—meaning it won’t get you high. But it could help you calm down. The extract is often used as natural relief for stress, anxiety, and pain.
In their rooms, hotel guests will see a new menu with a selection of CBD treats, curated by Chef Andrea Drummer. Drummer, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and one of the foremost figures of the culinary cannabis scene, has chosen a selection of light bites, snacks and beauty products.
The freshly-prepared tasting menu ranges from an ice cream sundae with 20 milligrams of CBD ($14) to spicy meatballs with 15 milligrams of CBD ($32). Those who opt for something from the prepackaged menu will find items like an anti-aging eye serum ($32), granola ($20) or bars of chocolate ($24). There’s even an option for those traveling with pets. Dogs can relax with a bag of dog hemp treats ($16).
All items are only available to order through room service.
The program is the latest addition to the hotel’s in-room wellness offerings. Guests can also book an in-room tarot reading, follow a custom workout on their TV or zen out on a meditation cushion in the corner of their rooms. Rates from $325/night.
