For a younger, trendier vibe, book a room at the swanky W Hotel. It’s located in the stylish Polanco neighborhood and features bold designs like lobby chairs with giant faces and guestroom beds with neon lighting. For those here on business, set up a meeting at one of the nine working studios or hook up to the free WiFi at the Living Room Bar. Make sure to book a dinner reservation at the forward-thinking 25DOS, which serves up dishes made from local, organic, and fresh ingredients and even has an interactive salad experience. Sofitel Mexico City Reforma
This 275-room property is the first luxury hotel to open in the city in the past decade. And, as you would expect from the Paris-based company, the new spot seamlessly blends French vibes with Mexican flavors. For example, the chefs use local ingredients but French cooking techniques to make dishes like ant-egg croquettes. The rooms are spacious, and the junior suites have soaking tubs that overlook The Angel of Independence below. Even if you don’t have a room with a view, you can still take in the sweeping vistas from the 38th-floor bar Cityzen, that’s now one of the hottest nightlife spots. Or, take a dip in the indoor pool on the same level. Although a newcomer, this hotel is certainly making its mark.
