The Point Unveils Renovations Under New Owners
After closing for renovations, this adults-only resort—located in Saranac Lake, New York, in the heart of the Adirondacks—reopened on May 24. The property, which has has bragging rights as being the former Great Camp of William Avery Rockefeller II, is now owned by former guests Pierre and Laurie Lapeyre, who purchased it after vacationing there for 25 years. Eleven guest rooms are spread across four original log buildings. Paw’s Up Launches Island Lodge
Starting Memorial Day weekend, Montana’s Resort at Paws Up introduces a new Island Lodge at Salmon Lake. Guests can book a three-hour morning, afternoon, or evening excursion of lake-based activities at the Island Lodge, complete with an adventure guide and an island butler and chef. A 10-minute drive from the resort, the Island Lodge is equipped with jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards, wakeboards, and water skis. Guests can also access fishing boats and sailboats, as well as bounce on a water trampoline. Evening visits include dinner and a live music performance. Hotel Pacai Opens in Vilnius, Lithuania
Lithuanian architect Saulius Mikštas has converted the former Palace of Pacai in Vilnius into a stylish urban retreat. During the renovation process, many of the former palace’s unique design elements, like baroque pillars, were unearthed and incorporated into its 104 rooms. Located on the main artery of the medieval Old Town, the hotel is primed to be a cultural and foodie hotspot. Four Seasons Resort Lāna‛i Announces New Way to Travel to the Island
Guests of Four Seasons Resort Lāna‛i can now reach Larry Ellison’s exclusive island in true jetsetter style: by skipping the hassle of the airport altogether with a private daily air charter service from Honolulu on Lāna‘i Air. Two Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, operated by Mokulele Airlines, will offer flexible, daily service, and parties as small as two passengers can book the entire aircraft for their journey. Each flight will be manned by two pilots, and each spacious plane seats up to eight passengers. The Cabo hotel boom continues with the May 23 opening of the Viceroy Los Cabos. The futuristic 104-room hotel is located on the beach in San Jose del Cabo. Rooms range in size from 575 square feet to 1,615 square feet and feature large terraces with views of the Sea of Cortez. The entrance to Nido (“nest” in Spanish), a cevichería and bar, looks like a bird’s nest made of driftwood and appears to float on water in the center of the resort; the menu highlights just-caught seafood. As if Francis Ford Coppola’s Italian retreat Palazzo Margherita weren’t dreamy enough, now guests can combine their stay with a yacht experience along the Mediterranean coast.
