On May 12, the day before Mother's Day, the hotel will host a special flower-arranging workshop from 11 am to noon on the hotel's rooftop. Held in partnership with MultiFlor, one of D.C.'s most sought after floral studios, the event is open to both guests and non-guests. Flower expert Carol Inskeep of MultiFlor will be available to help guests craft a one-of-a-kind-arrangement using seasonal, local blooms. You'll leave with a personalized bouquet made just for mom. During the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flowers Show in London, the Lanesborough Club & Spa will be offering the chance for guests to create their own ila fragrance in an interactive workshop. Guests will be welcomed with a juice or Bodyism shake upon arrival. An expert from organic skin care brand ila will instruct a master class on the benefits of organic ingredients. Guests will then be guided as they blend natural oils to create a bespoke body oil and face scrub. The workshop ends with a 60-minute personalized massage using your finished products. Twin Farms Spring on the Farm Events
Vermont’s acclaimed Twin Farms has curated top creative talents in the worlds of food and art for its “Spring on the Farm” event series. On May 16, chef Ryan McCaskey of the two Michelin-starred Acadia, in Chicago, will tag-team in the kitchen with chef Nathan Rich of Twin Farms. The weekend of May 18-20, international street artist Kelsey Montague will lead a “mindfulness” coloring workshop. The 21-room Wheelhouse Hotel, whose name references the batter's strike zone, has opened up the street from fabled Wrigley Field. Rooms have been designed to feel like modern lofts with exposed brick walls and bespoke millwork. (One of these, the Bullpen Terrace, is outfit with bunk beds to accommodate four guests.) The property's Union Full Board restaurant serves small bites such as bruschetta and Detroit-style square-cut pizzas. At night, guests can explore the downstairs speakeasy or head to the rooftop.
