Dubai is known for its lavish hotels. It's home to nearly every luxury brand—the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and International Financial Centre, Raffles, and Waldorf Astoria, all American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts properties, to name a few—and has over-the-top offerings like an underwater suite for around $8,000 a night. So, when hospitality brand FIVE decided to build a new property, you knew it was going to be outrageous. And it is.
The brand-new FIVE Jumeirah Village Dubai, set to open on September 2, 2019, will feature all of the luxury amenities you'd expect from a five-star property like fine dining, a spa, and gym. But, what makes the 500-room hotel stand out is the number of pools it houses. Incredibly, there's a pool for over half of the hotel rooms, all of which have views of the city or desert. Plus, there are additional pools up and down the modern tower (even at 800 feet above the ground) bringing the grand total to 269 pools.
"The connection between humans and nature is a basic and natural necessity," said CEO of FIVE Real Estate Development, Nabil Akiki. "As such, each apartment incorporates an extensive outdoor terrace, including pool, to bring the outdoors indoors."
Adding to that indoor-outdoor concept, the designers made it so that every bathroom has floor-to-ceiling with expansive views. "Conventional buildings are valued from top to bottom, wherein your highest floors at the highest rates compared to the lower ones," added Akiki. "With FIVE Jumeirah Village, all levels are penthouses."
And if you decide you want to leave your room, there are plenty of high-end experiences. Skip the in-room pool and hang by the main pool, enjoy gourmet street food at Soul Street restaurant, get a corrective facial from Canadian skincare specialist Nelly De Vuyst, or take a spin class at the InstaBody gym. Guests also have access to Palm Jumeirah's beach club.
