Rocco Forte Hotels Opens in Saudi Arabia
Olga Polizzi, Director of Design of Rocco Forte Hotels, and sister of Sir Rocco Forte, has collaborated with renowned interior designer Martin Brudnizki to create the brand’s first hotel in Saudi Arabia, opening February 1, 2017. Located in the heart of Jeddah’s business and shopping district, Assila Hotel is comprised of 147 rooms, 63 suites, and 94 residential suites spread across two towers. The splurge-worthy Royal Suite occupies half of the 16th floor and features three bedrooms, a dining room, library, maid’s room, kitchenette, and expansive terrace with city views. Throughout the property, guests will find nearly 2,000 pieces of artwork created by Saudi artists exclusively for the hotel, as well as a collection of 860 books on Saudi culture. Five onsite restaurants range from an Argentine steakhouse to an Arabic-Mediterranean fine-dining concept. A gym, two squash courts, and a rooftop pool allow guests plenty of opportunities for indulgence.
