The COVID-19 pandemic has changed nearly every aspect of day-to-day life over the last six months, but one of the most pronounced side effects of the stay-at-home and work-from-home orders of this year has been the dramatic uptick in pet ownership. Whether they’d been dreaming of getting a dog for years and were just waiting for the right time or they only realized their need for furry companionship during the long days of quarantine, Americans from coast to coast have been adopting, rescuing, and purchasing pets like no other time in history. But as the country continues to reopen and travel once again becomes a part of our lives, many newfound pet owners are finding themselves in uncharted territory: they want to travel but don’t want to leave their new family members behind.
Lucky for them, though, there are plenty of wonderful hotels and resorts across the United States that not only allow dogs and cats but actually treat them as well as any other guest. With few size restrictions and amenities galore, these luxury spots will welcome you and your new best friend with open arms.
