Two music industry big-wigs (aptly, the founders of Virgin and Island records) open properties, and some of our old favorites present stunning renovations.

The Caribbean’s biggest news is the early 2016 opening of Richard Branson’s three-villa Moskito Island (villas from $625; 877-577-8777; virginlimitededition.com), near the British Virgin Islands. The popular One&Only Ocean Club (rooms from $735; 1 Paradise Island; 242-363-2501; oneandonlyresorts.com) on Nassau’s Paradise Island just debuted an infinity-edge pool and 52 redesigned and enlarged rooms. Hôtel Le Toiny (rooms from $1,660; Anse de Toiny; 800-680-0832; letoiny.com), on St. Barths, also recently completed room renovations. Island Outpost is now offering stays at Pantrepant (rooms from $2,000; Bunkers Hill, Trelawny; 876-622-9009; islandoutpost.com), Island Records founder Chris Blackwell’s Jamaica farm. Nevis’s new seven-villa Paradise Beach (villas from $875; Paradise Estates; 869-469-7900; paradisebeachnevis.com) offers more privacy than the Four Seasons nearby.
