Their list of the best new luxury hotels that opened or reopened in 2017 includes entries from all over the world. We’re listing them in order, saving the best for last.

The Whitby: New York City
Located two blocks from Central Park in upper Midtown Manhattan, The Whitby offers 86 individually designed bedrooms and suites, many with private terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and stunning city views. The top floor Whitby Suite, decorated in the hotel’s contemporary English style, includes two master bedrooms and two furnished terraces. The Silo: Cape Town, South Africa
Housed in a former grain silo complex dating back to 1924 and situated above the new Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, The Silo overlooks the popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Palácio Tangará: São Paulo, Brazil
This impressive urban resort has 141 guestrooms, including 59 suites, all with views of beautiful Burle Marx Park. Jackalope: Victoria, Australia
An hour from Melbourne amid pristine vineyards in the renowned Mornington Peninsula wine region, this new hotel offers 46 designer “dens,” many with vineyard views, floor-to-ceiling windows, and private terraces. Guests can luxuriate around the infinity pool with all-day dining and poolside spa treatments. Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club: Miami, Florida
Old Miami glamour and contemporary luxury combine in this nine-acre, resort-style property. With 77 stylish rooms and 28 residences, the hotel is classic Four Seasons. Guests can enjoy oceanfront dining, luxury cabanas, a full-service spa, and lawns for yoga or meditation. Burgenstock Hotel: Lucerne, Switzerland
After nine years of planning and construction, the Burgenstock Resort, perched 2,800 feet above Lake Lucerne, opened in August. The contemporary Burgenstock Hotel (one of four at the resort) has 102 rooms and suites, blending modern architecture with traditional elements, luxurious furnishings, and views of the lake. Chablé Resort & Spa: Yucatan, Mexico
Thirty-eight spacious casitas and two expansive villas are situated in lush gardens on the resort’s 750 acres of private grounds. Three restaurants, led by acclaimed chef Jorge Vallejo, serve organic, seasonal cuisine mostly sourced from the on-site traditional Mayan gardens. Hotel de Crillon: Paris, France

The Ned: London, England
Set in a former bank in the heart of the city, this 252-bedroom property opens to a vast lobby with 92 African verdite columns, restored walnut banking counters, and eight restaurants and bars. The Bulgari: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Luxury Travel Intelligence chose this resort, just opened in early December, as the best new luxury hotel for 2017. The exclusive Mediterranean-style property on manmade Jumeira Bay is an island carved into the shape of a seahorse. The resort includes 173 sea-facing apartments, 15 private mansions, and Bulgari’s first-ever marina and yacht club with 50-berths. La Spiaggia beach club with a private beach and swimming pool, and the Bulgari Spa with an indoor pool, fitness center, beauty salon, and barbershop are just a few of the amenities.
