Wellness may just be the buzzword of the decade, as boutique fitness takes a luxurious turn and mindfulness becomes top-of-mind concern. For those who have already opted in—or those who are looking to jump-start their fitness goals—these hotels offer the latest in wellness programming thanks to partnerships with the industry’s leading brands.
Arlo Hotels, New York City
New York boutique hotel brand Arlo offers just about everything you need to give your fitness game an upgrade through their wide menu of partnership programs at their locations in New York’s SoHo and NoMad neighborhoods, but perhaps the most intense is their collaboration with Dogpound. The boxing-based gym is famous for shaping the heavenly bodies of Victoria’s Secret angels and even Hugh Jackman—so expect to work up a serious sweat. If you’re looking to work out without leaving the hotel, Arlo also offers a range of pop-up programs, including rooftop yoga from Yoga Shanti and surf-inspired interval training from Surfset NYC.
Four Seasons Hotel Milano, Milan, Italy
Think of it as the fitness fanatic’s version of sightseeing: at Four Seasons Hotel Milano, guests can sign up for a personal running tour of the city with a professional Nike Coach. Starting at 90 Euro for a one-hour session, each run is customized to the guest’s own fitness level and goals and ends with a stretching session back at the hotel gym, located onsite at the converted 15th-century convent. For an extra wellness kick, take a few laps in the pool or book a treatment at the hotel’s Patricia Urquiola–designed spa to cap your workout.
The Ritz-Carlton, Boston
While boutique fitness behemoth Equinox has plans for its first hotel in the works (it’s set to open at New York’s new Hudson Yards development in 2019), visitors to Boston’s Ritz-Carlton hotel can already get in on the sleek brand’s approach to wellness. Guests at the Ritz are offered full access to the 114,000 square-foot of Equinox Sports Club Boston, which features a spa and Marc Harris Salon, in addition to the latest workout gear and a slate of group fitness classes from barre to Zumba.

Located just steps from Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile, The James offers a holistic take on wellness that doesn’t even require leaving your room. Curated by Ruby Warrington of The Numinous, the Four Bodies Wellness Program offers ways to tap into your physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing, all from your room’s TV set with programs designed by top experts. Choose from in-room TV workout classes by Aerospace co-founder Michael Olajide, Jr.; stream jet lag-curing kundalini yoga sessions by Guru Jagat; book-on-demand reiki healing; or look inward with complimentary access to the INSCAPE meditation app.
1 Hotel South Beach, Miami
South Beach’s bikini bodies are as famous as its Art Deco architecture, so is it any surprise the eco-conscious, LEED-certified 1 Hotels Miami location has one of the most challenging fitness programs in the hotel industry. The company’s Florida location is home to the first-ever Spartan Gym, a spinoff of the grueling Spartan Race. The 14,000-square-foot facility offers an obstacle course along with group fitness classes and personal training centered on athleticism, endurance and strength.
The Westin Tokyo
There’s no need to pack your gym gear if you want to stay on track while staying at The Westin Tokyo; the hotel is just one of many Westin locations that offer fitness gear lending from New Balance. Call up the concierge to receive sneakers and freshly laundered clothing (the socks are yours to keep) within just 15 minutes, then head to the on-site gym or out for a run. You can choose from a self-guided 5k or 3.2k run using a curated map, or sign up to join the RunWESTIN Hotel Running Concierge for guided runs along the Meguro River.
