Highly subjective takes on life’s most interesting experiences.

What was a place that defied all of your expectations?

Sextantio in Matera, Italy. The hotel is made up of many cave dwellings that were carved into the mountain around 7000 B.C. All the rooms are lit by candlelight, and it is one of the most unique places I have ever been to.

The most beautiful restaurant experience?

Arriving on a classic Riva boat to Berton al Lago at Sereno Hotel in Lake Como. The chef is Raffaele Lenzi.

What’s the best swimming spot you’ve ever been to?

The pool at Nafsika, which is part of the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Athens.
