It seems like the world's top cities are in a never-ending battle to be the best, at least when it comes to creating luxurious hotel rooms. American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property Le Bristol Paris recently turned a suite into a live-in art exhibit, and Damien Hirst helped design the world's most expensive suite. Now, the newly renovated The Conrad New York Midtown (formerly The London) is unveiling its all-glass suite.

Called the Atrium Suite, the stunning 1,500-square-foot room is perched 43 stories high with the main living room housed within a greenhouse-like all-glass space. While lounging on the couch, guests can get panoramic views of Manhattan and Central Park and the unusual perspective of looking up at the sky and skyscrapers too. Designers used pale pink, dark green, blue, and grey-toned hues to enhance the colors of the changing seasons of Central Park visible below. Plus, several perfectly-situated plants add to that luxe greenhouse vibe.

This isn't the only stunning suite available. As part of the overhaul, a 2,700-square-foot, two-story, two-bedroom penthouse was added complete with wrap-around, bird's eye views of the famous park as well. Elsewhere throughout the hotel, you'll find more of that jewel-tone color scheme, custom furniture, herringbone wood floors, and Carrera marble in the bathrooms as well as an impressive art collection from artists like renowned hyperrealist Carole A. Feuerman.

As far as amenities, one of the most exciting has to be the access to famed caviar purveyor, Petrossian. They will provide caviar tastings through in-room dining, and guests can receive exclusive access to the restaurant and shop nearby.

"It's nothing short of an honor to build upon the legend that this hotel has created in Midtown," said Robert H. Rechtermann, general manager of Conrad New York Midtown, in a statement. "This opening not only celebrates our neighborhood's and building's past, but also ushers in a new era of luxury in the heart of Manhattan. We can't wait to serve today's generation of travelers by offering unprecedented service, comforts, and experiences that are synonymous with the Conrad Hotels & Resorts name."
