Highly subjective takes on life's most interesting experiences.
The hardest place to get to that you’ve ever visited — and was it worth it?
There’s a town 3 hours from Chiang Mai, Thailand, that I visited called Pai, and I would highly recommend. It’s this little hippie town. It took a day on a bus to get there from South Thailand to North.
What’s the most interesting tradition you’ve ever experienced?
I grew up going to the Philippines every summer to visit my mom’s family so I was so used to their traditions from a young age. Like using your hands to eat. Also blessing the elders as a sign of respect.
Favorite word or phrase in a language not your own?
My dad’s second language is Dutch and he always says this: Doe het rustig aan. It means “take it easy.”
