A splendid three-story mansion built in 1913 by the Allemand family now houses the bar and restaurant Milión. Beautiful porteños of all ages come to preen and flirt on the sweeping marble steps or to wander idly with a cocktail through the ivy-draped garden. The Allemands' piano, family portraits, and marble fireplaces remain intact, but the place is far from stuffy: Waiters wear T-shirts and dreadlocks (while displaying impeccable manners). An impressive cocktail list—which includes the hard-to-find single malts Caol Ila and Glen Ord—draws night owls to the first-floor bar. But the real attraction is the dinner menu with such standouts as sweetbreads with greens and quail eggs, and tuna steak dripping with lime. Dinner, $45.
