The Last Word on the US Open

Carvell Wallace on greatness, Serena, and the US Open’s best menswear.

After six centuries of making the best Murano glass, Seguso Viro has opened a shop of its own. In St. Mark's Square, the new boutique showcases the Seguso family's filigree and glass-caning techniques, as well as brilliantly colored confections like the cerulean-blue-and-yellow Orizzonte collection ($225-$11,225) and the Stonehenge-inspired black-and-red Celtico line ($100-$5,360). "We are loyal to tradition," says the company's U.S. president, Gianluca Seguso, who represents the 22nd generation of Segusos. "But we do like to add a bit of a twist." At 289-305 Piazza San Marco; 39-041-277-0739; www.seguso.com.
