"The Home Collection began, quite simply, with a home," says Canadian jewelry designer John Hardy, who has lived and worked in Bali for more than two decades. Four years ago he and his wife, Cynthia, moved into a house overlooking the Ayung River. "We needed everything," explains Hardy, "from doorknobs to bowls." So he started designing items based on the Balinese philosophy that what is commonplace must also be beautiful. The gleaming water pitcher with sweeping handle ($2,100) is hammered from a sheet of silver no larger than a coaster, a process that takes more than two days. The collection includes crystal martini shakers, palmwood letter openers, and silver shaving brushes. Viewpoint Showrooms: 800-254-2739; www.viewpointshowroom.com.
