At the Exploration and Travel sales held every fall at Christie’s London (the next is September 25), lots have included memorabilia from the voyages of T. E. Lawrence, James Cook, and Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen. These glass lantern-slide images, many taken by Amundsen in the early 1900s, are a part of a collection of 250 that fetched $153,000 at Christie’s in 2006. christies.com
