Layovers and delays at La Guardia Airport are a bit more, shall we say, palatable now that Figs is here. The latest restaurant from Todd English (whose Boston venues, including his flagship, Olives, are sprouting NYC offshoots), Figs serves an array of fresh salads, panini, pizzettes, and even a few more ambitious—by airport standards—dishes like the Portobello polenta appetizer. Best feature: They'll wrap your food for takeout, so you can tuck into a nice meal while your seat-mate nibbles on honey-roasted peanuts. $40. Located in the Central Terminal.
