One of the few true hot spots in Copacabana—the smart set sticks to the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Leblon—the Copa Cafe is a new French bistro from São Paulo chef Cássio Machado, who whips up perfect omelets, fresh salads, and fabulous mini burgers basted with Dijon mustard. But the food is almost beside the point. When the DJ starts her spinning, the place is all about the crowd: Rio's hippest hipsters, among them the elusive crooner- cum-icon the amazing Caetano Veloso. Dinner, $55. At 3056 Avda. Atlântica; 55-21/2235-2947.
