When British Vogue needed a cake for its 90th anniversary party it turned to London-based cake designer Rachel Mount. A self-taught baker, Mount opened her studio 15 years ago, and it took almost that long to perfect her Blahnik- and Choo-inspired designs. "The sugar and the cake are so soft," Mount says, "it was a challenge to make a crisp heel." She’s also been known to create handbag- and Eiffel Tower–shaped confections; she can turn nearly anything pertaining to fashion or travel into a stylish dessert. And in flavors ranging from chocolate to lemon zest to coffee brandy, every morsel is edible—and just as irresistible as an actual Manolo slingback.
