Manhattan's Ritz-Carlton, on Central Park South—the hotel that offers aromatherapy for dogs—has gone above and beyond once again: Lawrence Lewis, formerly at Cartier and Harry Winston and now the New York connection for jeweler Alberto Repossi, is the on-site gemologist. Poised to visit guests' rooms anytime with a selection of finished pieces (like the pin above), Lewis also consults with those who have a stone they would like set or who want to work something up from scratch. One client recently had Lewis deliver roses to his girlfriend's room along with a custom-made 3.5-carat diamond heart brooch—at 3 a.m. Rates, $650-$12,000. At 50 Central Park South; 212-308-9100; www.ritzcarlton.com.
