Destination Wineries: Where to Experience Wine Country Around the Globe
Beyond their quality bottles, these wineries offer oenophiles a number of extraordinary reasons to travel straight to the source.

Truly exceptional wineries know there's more wine aficionados want to see and do than simply taste the juice in their glasses. Today's travelers are interested in well-rounded programs that offer a 360-degree experience of a wine's origin, process, and overall ethos, and these 17 destinations from Chile to Canada, Portugal to Piedmont deliver exactly that—and then some. At these wine wineries, a guided tasting is just the beginning; helicopter tours, private white truffle hunts, cooking classes, contemporary art exhibitions, history-focused architecture tours, and horseback rides all elevate the experience and deepen a sense of place and purpose. The opposite of cookie-cutter drop-in-and-taste programs, these estates, located in some of the most esteemed wine countries around the globe, mostly require advance reservations and visits can be customized to suit individual interests. Before arrival, get in touch to tailor a bespoke experience: Whether you want to play winemaker for a day or arrange an exclusive barrel tasting, these wineries go above-and-beyond.
