Abhasa Spa at The Royal Hawaiian, Honolulu

This aptly named Abhasa Spa—Abhasa is the Sanskrit word for “illusion”—is located in the heart of busy Waikiki, though you’d never know it. Nestled in a garden sanctuary within The Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s coconut grove, guests can enjoy treatments beneath the shade of swaying palms and ginger blossoms in an outdoor cabana. The spa also features a Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and nine indoor treatment rooms. The most popular treatment is the Ola Honua (from $130), a full-body warm mud cocoon said to detoxify and improve blood circulation.

Treatments from $130; 2259 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu; 808-923-7311; royal-hawaiian.com.
