Villa Brown Jerusalem Debuts
The Villa Brown Jerusalem, a restored private residence built during the Ottoman era, is the newest—and flashiest—addition to the Israeli-run boutique brand of Brown Hotels. Originally the home of a doctor and general manager of Jerusalem’s historic Rothschild Hospital, the 24-room property opens April 1 in the heart of the city center. The interiors merge Neoclassical and Ottoman styles with contemporary design influences that evoke the opulence of Jerusalem’s 19th-century. Two new floors allowed for the addition of a rooftop spa and open-air Jacuzzi with city views, and the basement-level water well was transformed into an undergrounding cocktail den called the “Cave Bar.” A Garden Bistro-Café serves updated takes on classic regional dishes and al fresco tea service is offered twice a day in the beautifully landscaped garden. From $275; 54 HaNeviim St. Jerusalem; 97-225/011-555; brownhotels.com.
