Sable Alley Camp Opens in Botswana
Sable Alley, a complete rebuild of a beloved old bush camp, debuts this April in northern Botswana’s Khwai Private Reserve. This is the newest camp from Natural Selection, a Cape Town-based safari start-up backed by safari industry vet Colin Bell, a founder of Wilderness Safaris and Great Plains Conservation. The camp’s 12 beautiful tented suites are raised on wooden platforms and guests can view the lagoon’s resident hippos from their covered verandas or mosquito-netting-draped double beds. Herds of buffalos and elephants are visible from the camp's swimming pool deck. The Khwai Private Reserve comprises diverse habitats—woodland, rivers, open savanna, floodplains, lagoons, and woodlands—which draw a range of wildlife. Mokoro trips, bush walks, and 4x4 safaris frequently spot wild dog, leopard, lion, sable antelope, and cheetah. From $570; naturalselection.travel.
