The Iconic Colorist

Twenty years ago Muriel Grateau raised the bar for refined tableware with her artistic creations. At her Left Bank gallery, her incredible taste for vivid tones and unique materials is on full display. Her plates (from $115) are handmade by a small French porcelain producer, and she, against tradition, tints them with her colored designs as they are being crafted. Grateau also makes linen napkins in her iconic 100 colors (from $45 each), which Labro says are a must-have. At 37 Rue de Beaune; 33-1/43-26-07-40.
