Perched on a hill overlooking a harbor, this rambling 1874 inn with a wraparound porch is storybook New England. Its interiors, however, tell a different tale. Thanks to the eclectic sensibility of Dutch owners Oscar Verest and Raymond Brunyanszki, the 18 guest rooms look more Miami than Maine, done up in metallic wallcoverings and peppered with Deco accents. Those craving a bit of Americana can take heart: The hotel’s bistro-style restaurant, Natalie’s, serves a memorable lobster tasting menu. Rooms, from $175; 800-236-4266; camdenharbourinn.com.
