Local Spots to Shop on Small Business Saturday

Trinette Reed/Stocksy United

The products, services, and locales of these mom-and-pop shops differ, but all take pride in providing outstanding customer service, maintaining relationships, and being part of their communities.

Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is the cornerstone of the company’s year-round Shop Small efforts. Local firms give back to their communities, create jobs and healthy neighborhoods, and offer residents more choices. Responses to a recent survey by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) confirmed that shoppers enjoy supporting their local community, and others cited service, convenience, and selection of products as reasons to shop at small businesses.

Whatever your Small Business Saturday shopping plans may be, whether browsing the neighborhood or the internet, we suggest you take advantage of the American Express Shop Small map. A convenient search of the map found the following businesses in various cities, and many have both physical and online shopping sites. November 24, 2018 will be the ninth Small Business Saturday, with recognition of the day increasing each year.
