The Kipling Suite, Brown’s Hotel, a Rocco Forte Hotel, London

Named after Rudyard Kipling, who is believed to have written The Jungle Book while staying at this storied 179-year-old London hotel, The Kipling Suite has emerged from a three-month renovation significantly expanded and redecorated under the eye of Rocco Forte Hotel’s director of design, Olga Polizzi. Feeling more like a grand apartment than hotel room, the one-bedroom space fuses classic British and colonial Indian style with exotic patterned wallpaper and fabrics by Gloucestershire-based Lewis & Wood, bespoke furniture by Julian Chichester, and vintage pieces such as 1940s alabaster pendant lights. A cheeky white resin monkey from Graham and Green hangs by one arm in the front entryway—a subtle nod to the jungle theme. From $9,130 per night. 33 Albemarle St., Mayfair, United Kingdom; 44-20/7493-6020;
