Head to Adobe Road Winery in Sonoma County and you’ll be faced with some one-of-a-kind wines. A clue: The winery is owned by race car driver Kevin Buckler. Another clue: He’s still really into honoring his racing history with his wines.

To celebrate the Daytona races in January 2019, Buckler introduced a four-bottle collection of wine called The Racing Series. And they’re still worth celebrating not only because they’re delicious, but the bottle designs are physically inspired by cars.

The series consists of Redline, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Syrah, and Malbec all in a bottle silkscreened with the image of a vintage tachometer, a homage to Buckler’s first winning race. Shift is a mix of Zinfandel, Barbera, Grenache, Petite Sirah, and Carignane and it comes in a bottle that resembles a five-speed shift knob, complete with a metal label. The 24 combines grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Malbec in a bottle that features a metal chronograph label inspired by the Rolex that counts down to races at Daytona. Last but certainly not least, Apex is the most premium of the wines, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Petite Syrah in a bottle outfitted with a metal apex.

The Racing Series is the ultimate gift for car enthusiasts, wine lovers, or anyone that appreciates a good sports call-out. You can read more about the winery and its wines over on the Adobe Winery website.
