Designer Club: M.N. ROY

Still one of the hottest, most exclusive tickets in town, this late-night club (once the headquarters of the Mexican Communist Party, after whose founder it is named) attracts a glamorous crowd in a sexy space designed by French architecture and design collaborative Chic by Accident. The door (a deceptively decrepit pink façade of an ice-cream parlor) is presided over by a transgender beauty named Zemmoa, who is notoriously picky about who gets past the velvet rope. It’s technically a private club—and a bit of a scene—so have your hotel concierge make a reservation or just turn up fully turned out. Merida 186; mnroyclub.com.
