Equinox Group is known for having a portfolio of the world’s top fitness brands like SoulCycle, PURE Yoga, Precision Run, Myodetox, HeadStrong, and it’s namesake chic gyms. But now they’re helping people have those high-end wellness experiences on the road.
Equinox Media just introduced an early release of Variis, an app that provides unlimited, on-demand access from not one, but all the brands. So, depending on what you have access to while traveling, there’s a workout for you. Have a gym in your hotel? Then you can follow a weight-based exercise routine from some of the top trainers in the world. Is there a stationary bike around? Then a SoulCycle spin class is at your fingertips.
Even if no equipment is available, there are plenty of options. There are cardio and strength workouts that use nothing but your body weight, making it perfect for a hotel room. Plus, the offerings go beyond just getting a sweat session in. PURE Yoga flows can ease sore muscles after hours on a plane, a HeadStrong-guided meditation to help ground yourself before bed to combat jet lag. There’s also stretching and recovery options to round out your wellness.
And all the videos use multi-camera shots and concert-grade lighting that closely mirror the in-studio experience.
“It can be hard to maintain your workout routine when traveling,” Jason LaRose, CEO of Equinox Media, told Departures. “Regardless of where you are, Variis transports you to the front of the class. You have the flexibility and autonomy to have unlimited access to the best brands and world’s top instructors in fitness wherever you are, whenever you’re ready.”
Beyond the app, Variis is also debuting the SoulCycle at-home bike ($2,500) to have a complete spin class experience in your house.
The Variis platform became available beginning March 13th for Equinox members via a phased market roll-out, and the bike is available for pre-order.
