And while sunshine is almost always in the forecast come April and May, so are spring showers. They, of course, also call for proper footwear, namely a good pair of rain boots that will keep your feet dry and comfortable.

Rain boots were actually getting a very bad rap for a long time for their unattractive looks. Most often made from rubber, they were the necessary evil that we shrugged off as practical on precipitation-heavy days. But this is no longer the case.

While the classic knee-high Woodstock-inspired rubber boot still exists, for those who prefer to walk the streets clad in prettier shoes, there is some good news. Designers have given this footwear style, that originated in the British countryside, a high fashion update and the result will have you wishing rain was a more regular occurrence.

Here we rounded up the most stylish pairs for men and women.
